The Burmese Connection

26th May 2025. Two things to report since our focus became clearer that the Burmese Mission Church was where we would pursue the Healing Ministry in Oxford.

A substantial amount of money was raised by British Burmese Christians for the Earthquake relief in Myanmar, and was sent to Missionaries who would have the most wisdom in using it. We have received many photos of the people who were helped with parcels containing food and family supplies. Mainly from the Buddhist community, about sixty were invited to receive them and to hear the Gospel explained. Their response is quoted: “We have, of course, never heard about Jesus; today we clearly understand his love and saving knowledge”. A whole day was spent, and climaxed in eleven new converts receiving baptism by immersion. We have been sent many photos on Whatsapp giving evidence of all this.

Efforts are still going on here to enable a large number of Christians to visit for a conference to include Healing Ministry.

The second point to acquaint you with is that I myself will be leading worship at most of our Sunday afternoon services, as our regular Burmese guitarist is having more of his time taken up with his work and family commitments. So, the church has helped me to procure an acoustic Amplifier/Speaker, plus microphone and stand for the purpose. I imagine not many get set up with their first gig kit at the age of seventy-nine!

Thank you for your continued interest and prayer support.
